Home > Rolando Park News > 2023 Priorities

While we received many great suggestions during voting , we will be focusing only on the top three priorities as voted by members:

1. Traffic calming & pedestrian safety

  • Radar speed display signs to be installed on Rolando Blvd, Vista Grande, and Aragon sometime this year
  • Identify the streets and intersections where we still see problems and request new traffic studies
  • Will look at possibility of volunteer student crossing guards at Vista Grande/Marlowe (entry into Rolando Park Elementary

2. Cleanups in the community: sidewalks and streets plus regular cleanups: University, College, & other major streets

Goals:

  • Four quarterly cleanups on University Ave, 2 in Rolando Park, 2 in Redwood Village
  • Two cleanups in Zena Canyon, spring and fall
  • Two community cleanups to clean up sidewalks and curbs and provide opportunities for residents to dispose of unwanted items

3. Landscaping improvements & monument sign, College/College Grove

We’re going to look first at securing funding to permanently address landscaping improvements, such as hardscape and self-sustaining native trees and shrubs before a monument sign is installed.

Can we go from this (current state)
To something like this?
Or this? Let’s explore the possibilities.
