Home > RPCC & The City > Saturday’s Zena Canyon cleanup and bulky item drop off was a major success!

Volunteers thoroughly cleaned the top section of the canyon; San Diego Unified will be doing an extensive cleanup of the encampments and brush abatement in a few weeks.

Special thanks to our D9 community representative Roberto Marin for working with us to set up this event and promoting it this last week.

We were joined by our now-retired SDPD CRO Terry Hoskins, our new CRO Josh Cummings, and San Diego Unified police officer Bruce Taitano.

Our Council President Sean Elo-Rivera joined us for the bulky item drop off and some thoughtful discussion about some of our community concerns.

Residents from Rolando Park and Redwood Village communities filled two bins and more than 900 pounds of metal was diverted for recycling.

Thank you to our incredible group of volunteers who are making a difference in our communities!
