In January, one of the four concerns that members voted to be a 2026 priority was Fire Safety Education. We’re pleased to address this priority so quickly.
At our March 9 meeting, the Rolando Park Community Council and the Rolando Park Fire Safe Council are co-sponsoring a community education event on Zone Zero. Sierra Brown, Deputy Fire Marshall with the San Diego Fire Rescue Department’s Wildfire Management Program will give an overview on how to meet the Zone Zero requirements in the City of San Diego.
Although Zone Zero requirements are only required for homes in the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone (VHFHSZ), the recommended fire prevention for Zone Zero will be helpful to those homes adjoining the VHFHSZ; much of both Rolando Park and Redwood Village are in the VHFHSZ.
