Note the change in our meeting date for this month only. Because of Monday’s holiday, we will be meeting on Tuesday.
Three short, interesting presentations at this month’s meeting. First, Chelsey Birgisdottir with the ACLU will be presenting on their work on San Diego/Statewide police practices reform.
Next, our Rolando Park Elementary PTA will have a short presentation on the many activities they have planned for the remainder of the school year, like the upcoming Turkey Trot, the annual Holiday Giving Tree, and Cookies with Santa. There are many opportunities to volunteer and you do not need to have a child at RPE.
Our last presenter will be RPE Principal Anthony DeLuca, who will discuss the academic progress that’s been made at RPE and improvements still to come. Did you know that Rolando Park Elementary is number one in the Crawford Cluster for Math and English/Language Arts scores? This is a 35% improvement over the last 4 years and it means that RPE students performed better than 78% of all California elementary schools! Our little neighborhood school rocks!
