Home > RPCC & The City > Rolando Park’s Movie in the Park

We want to thank everyone who came out to our Movie in the Park on Saturday. We had a great turnout and we hope that everyone had fun.

Our goal from year 1 has been to present a fun, community and family-friendly event that everyone can enjoy and last night did not disappoint.

We were surprised at the number of people who came by before the movie just to visit and grab tacos and Italian Ice. Many families with little ones came just for the jumper/slide and face painting and older kids came for the opportunities to see school friends before school starts (and throw some glow jewelry in the air after dark). And quite a few people actually came for the movie.

Thanks to all of our vendors: Tacos & Catering El Bad Hombre for the incredible street tacos, Gelu Italian Ice (what’s your favorite Italian Ice flavor?), Nita Painter painted faces almost nonstop from arrival to the start of the movie (no disappointed kids), and Happys Party Rentals delivered on time and were so stealth sneaking in and out during the movie to take the jumper away without disturbing anyone.

Thanks again to College – Rolando Library for joining us and Principal Noriega, who spent as much time talking with kids and parents as she did giving away free books.😊

Thanks to the Rolando Park Elementary PTA for partnering with us every year and making this a true community event. This would not be successful without our two organizations working together.

And thanks to YOU, our community, for attending and making this event (with all of the hiccups along the way right up to start time) totally worth it. See you next summer!
