We could use a few more volunteers!

Neighbors, Rolando Park Community Council and Rolando Community are sponsoring a joint University Ave cleanup next Saturday, October 26, from 8 to 10 am. Volunteers from Rolando Park will be cleaning the south side of University from College to Aragon and Rolando volunteers will clean the north side.

Councilmember Monica Montgomery’s office is supplying the dumpster bin for Rolando Park as well as vests, pickers, and bags. We’ll meet at Party House Liquor at Rolando/University and Rolando Park Community Council will provide coffee and pastries starting at 7:30 to kick off the cleanup.

We need a few more cordless weed trimmers and brooms and dustpans, so please bring yours if you can. We’ll be picking up trash, removing weeds from the sidewalk and curb, and sweeping the sidewalk.

The cleanup should go pretty quickly if we get enough volunteers. Once the cleanup is completed, the dumpster bin will be open to the volunteers. If there’s any room left after that, we’ll post here and on Nextdoor and open it to the community.
