Home > RPCC & The City > Follow up to mini-community clean up

Boy did we get rid of trash and recyclables in Rolando Park!  The mini-community clean up held on Wednesday August 19 helped neighbors dispose of literally tons of waste.

A total of 11.02 tons of waste were removed from the neighborhood, consisting of 9.29 tons of non-recyclables and 1.73 tons of recyclables.

Stacy from the Waste Reduction and Disposal Division of the City of San Diego said to extend her gratitude to the volunteers who helped distribute the City’s flyers to homes on the selected streets: Gerrie Flaven, Kathryn Kern, Heather and Fred Erwin and Betty White. Additionally Gail Stevens took it upon herself to duplicate the on line flyer and passed it around to her neighbors.

Thanks to all neighbors who participated.
